Countryside Homes

Homes that let you live closer to nature

A home in the countryside offers the opportunity to build a different relationship with landscape, seasons and nature. We design houses that make the most of that opportunity, shaped by their views, orientation, topography and the particular character of their setting.

Over twenty years, we have designed and delivered homes across Green Belt, National Landscapes, agricultural land and Conservation Areas. Planning in these contexts requires a careful understanding of what makes a place special, alongside the imagination to demonstrate how new architecture can contribute positively to it.

New-build country homes

One-off homes in rural settings – designed to be architecturally distinctive, rooted in their landscape, and built to last. We work across Green Belt, National Landscapes, and open countryside designations.

Agricultural conversions

Class Q and other permitted development conversions, barn transformations, and reuse of redundant rural buildings, retaining character while creating thoroughly contemporary living spaces.

20 years of rural planning expertise

Green Belt & National Landscapes

We have a strong track record of securing planning consent in the most protected rural designations, through rigorous site analysis, sensitive design, and proactive dialogue with local planning authorities from day one.

Agricultural & Class Q

We understand the nuances of permitted development rights for agricultural buildings, advising on viability, navigating prior approval, and designing conversions that make the most of existing structures without losing what makes them special.

Heritage & conservation

Rural Conservation Areas, listed farmhouses, and historically sensitive plots require a particular kind of care. We have extensive experience navigating listed building consent and working sensitively alongside historic fabric.
