An elegant, shingle clad rooftop extension crowns an existing warehouse, creating a new identity for the building which is home to a variety of creative businesses in Hackney.
The ground floor and basement have been converted into a café, studio and event space, adding to the vibrancy of the Mare Street Conservation Area.
The new rooftop storey creates a high-quality working environment for a fashion studio that is naturally ventilated and evenly lit by north facing roof lights, whilst externally swift boxes and a green roof provides new habitat.
The sensitive and contemporary design sits lightly on the existing building and is set back from the edge creating a wrap around roof terrace with panoramic views across London for entertaining clients.
