This residential-led development in Tower Hamlets demonstrates our ability to solve complex urban challenges and unlock constrained sites.
Occupying a long-vacant plot at the edge of historic Wellclose Square, the project reinstates a lost urban frontage and strengthens a key pedestrian route to Swedenborg Gardens.
We overcame major constraints including a difficult planning history, high pollution levels, and extensive underground infrastructure – notably a Victorian sewer and UKPN power lines.
Planning permission has been granted for 24 homes – including affordable homes – above active ground floor commercial spaces, unified by a single entrance and generous communal lobby that opens to Wellclose Alley. Acoustic winter gardens buffer street noise, while the building’s structure is engineered to bridge over key subterranean elements.
